Albert Einstein quotes and sayings are witty, insightful and often inspirational.

Today’s quotes of the day are from Albert Einstein (1879-1955), who is regarded as the father of modern physics and as one of the world’s greatest thinkers, even more than 50 years after his death.

Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, located in Württemberg, Germany. Einstein was a Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist who became famous for his theories of special and general relativity. Despite a speech impediment early in life, Einstein is credited with an array of insightful and witty quotes and sayings. Einstein quotations are often about life in general, or on topics like Zionism or Socialism. In fact, in addition to publishing books about physics, Einstein also published works expressing left-wing political views on Socialism and Zionism. As a result, many Einstein quotes and sayings have a distinctly political flavor.

Einstein is also known for his crazy hair, but what many may not know is that he married a woman named Elsa Lowenthal who was his first cousin on his maternal side and his second cousin on his paternal side!

Here’s today’s quotes by Albert Einstein.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”     ~Albert Einstein

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.”     ~Albert Einstein

“He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.”     ~Albert Einstein

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”     ~Albert Einstein

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.”     ~Albert Einstein

“We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same…The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.”     ~Anne Frank

“You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.”     ~Albert Camus

“Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open.”     ~John Barrymore

“Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other fellow and then for ourselves.”     ~Helen Keller

“Happiness is as a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but which if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”     ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
